THE idea behind this section of the website is that it is fully open to suggestions. Perhaps you know of a design competition that you feel everybody should know about, or an upcoming car show. There may be a new vehicle design trend that needs discussion or even just some amusing stories you may have regarding your path to becoming a designer. Whatever it is, let us know and we will give it consideration. Of course we will have some ideas of our own as well. Whatever idea you have just let us know at [email protected]
COMPETITION 2 WINNERS
Our second competition is
now over. The judging was not easy due to the high quality and
quantity of the entrants, but a winning selection was made. We would
like to thank all who entered, it is obvious a lot of time and effort was
put into the competition. As at the end of our last competition, we
are now very interested in hearing your thoughts and ideas for competition
number three.
"START YOUR ENGINES" and "LIFT OFF" REVIEW
To
continue our look at inspiring and educational books, we are lucky enough to
have two of the first copies of Scott Robertson's new books, "Start your
Engines", and "Lift Off". With many, many examples of his work, and narrated
by Scott himself, the books are an interesting insight into the mind, as
well as the work of Scott Robertson.
DESIGN SKETCHING REVIEW
In addition to our short
book reviews we also want to take the time to have a more in depth look at
some of the books we have recommended. The first book we are going to
look at is fast becoming popular amongst designers and design schools around
the world. Design Sketching has been written by two former students of
UmeƄ Institute of Design along with the help of 24 contributors.
